The half term holidays are already fast approaching, which brings with it the challenge of how to entertain your little ones without spending a small fortune. With this in mind the we are hosting a series of family activities for younger visitors to enjoy – best of all –they are FREE.
Joining us on Tuesday 13 February, is The Sci-Pop team from Northumbria University, who will be offering children the chance to engage in a series of fantastic science related activities, which will include the building, testing and redesigning of their very own catapult, which they will be able to use to launch ping pong balls across the space. This will be followed by the return of the popular Family Hub (Wednesday 14 – Friday 16 February) who will be bringing with them a whole host of fun, in the form of their amazing ‘Discovery Garden’, which will include a lovely play area for little visitors to the centre, a baby area complete with oversized rugs, garden cushions, sensory toys, plus there will be slides, soft play equipment and more. Plus to celebrate Chinese New Year’s, there will be a host of themed arts and crafts for budding artists to try their hand at. No pre-booking is required, just turn up on the day. The activities will be held between 10am-2pm in the Northumberland Square area of the centre, adjacent to Dicksons butchers.
Members of the Beacon Centre’s Kids Club joining in the half term fun, will receive a small Valentine’s inspired treat! But don’t worry if you’re not already member, it’s easy to join and it’s completely free. You can either sign up in person on the day, or you can visit their website www.thebeaconcentre.co.uk/the-kids-club.
