With Christmas fast approaching, we are getting into the festive spirit by hosting a series of seasonal activities for the whole family to enjoy.
The festive fun commences with Santa arriving early into town, with his Grotto open on selected days from 25th November to 22nd December. A visit to the grotto is just £1 per child, with children receiving a small gift from Santa. All proceeds from the Grotto are donated to the North Shields Fishermen’s’ Mission, ensuring that funds raised go directly back into the community.
Adding to the Christmas cheer, a host of local schools and community groups, including Waterville and Christchurch Primary Schools and The Salvation Army, who will all be performing a series of festive songs and carols for visitors to the Centre to enjoy.
Continuing with an annual tradition, The Centre will be supporting the popular Victorian Christmas Market in Northumberland Square on 9th & 10th December. To add to the festivities, children can visit the Centre’s Elves workshop, where enthusiastic elves will be inviting our younger customers to join them to see if they have got what it takes to be a good elf. In addition children can get creative by making a mini Christmas gift to take home. Over the weekend a host of pantomime characters will also be joining in the fun and meeting and greeting customers.
Customers to the Centre will also be able to enjoy late night opening hours from 18th – 22nd December, where the Centre will be open from 9am to 7pm. For further information on the Centre’s events, visit their website www.thebeaconcentre.co.uk
